Old Game

I guess I got bored with WoW, again, and bought a somewhat cheap but old game: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic from Steam today. I’ve been reading about it for a while and from what I know, it’s a good RPG game, made by Bioware.

So bought it, downloaded, installed. The first thing I noticed… OLD graphics. The highest resolution it offers is 1280×864 or so while my screen can do 1680×1050. My friend looked at it and said… bleh.

Since I’ve already bought it, I think I’ll try to finish it. We’ll see how it goes.

Cool bug

So the other day, I looked at my WoW Armory. It was bugged, showing only one side of my shoulder pads.

Sooo bugged but I think this is cool heh…

Final Fantasy XIII

Well I just finished the game. Total time spent was about 59 hours… It could be less I would think. Not that I “love” the game but I don’t hate it. Maybe it’d be more interesting if I didn’t make the tanking type the party leader and instead, just go with other role.

Maybe I’ll go back and play a bit more, doing random side quests, so I can play with the Eidolons I haven’t seen in action.

The Patient

Came with the new WoW 3.3 patch launched about a month ago was this new “Looking-for-group” tool. With this tool, and the new cross-server instancing, now it’s just easier to get a group to run instances. There was this achievement that reward you with “The Patient” title, once you group with 50 random people to run instances. I got it on my shaman not long ago and just got one for my warlock today.

Of all three level 80 toons I have, I think my warlock deserve the title the most. Why?

Out of the three toons, he’s the only pure dps class I have while the other two are mostly healing. With this totally random group, sometime you got to group with really bad tanks, or healers. And regardless of how well your dps perform, bad tanks/healers could really just wipe the group easily. And it happened to my warlock several times already.

I’m pretty certain my healers are good enough to keep the group going. I rarely had issues with the PuGs when I do my random instance run using the tool. So yes, that’s why I’ll just show the title only on the warlock, who deserves the most!

My New Favorite?

I haven’t played WoW much lately. Started with being swamped with too many things I needed to do, plus the tiredness from driving through San Mateo bridge during the Bay Bridge closure.

Then there was this new game that was release just about a week ago:

It’s a RPG game (Non-MMO) which means I have to deal with zero human. I’ve been looking at some “alternative” to WoW for quite some time. Was thinking about Demon’s Souls on PS3 but I heard it wasn’t that forgiving and could be too tough for me.

Anyhow, I picked up Dragon Age Origins (PC version) and got a chance to play it over the weekend. Without going into details, I must say this game is really satisfying, at least for me.

As for WoW, my guild doesn’t really do well since we are half casual. I’ll probably log on to play with them from time to time (there is no attendance requirement) and most likely do hard mode stuff with a small group of friends (and also better players in guild.)

I must say DA could be my new favorite (of the month.) Heh…

Overly Easy?

On Tuesday night, after our semi-sucky 25-man raid, a group of my in-game friend and some guildies went to the 10-man version of Trial of the Crusader (came with patch 3.2 and had all bosses available that day.) For the past few weeks, we have done other bosses and they all just seemed easy. I guess this is true to the last boss, too.

My favorite Warcraft III Hero Character, Anub’arak the Crypt Lord, somehow got resurrected (again) by the Lich King  and made him the last boss of this new raid instance. Anyway, we read nd some info on him off the internet and gave it a try… and killed him in our 3rd attempt.

I just feel like it’s a bit on the easy side. The whole instance has only 5 encounters, though, you could actually do the Hard Mode version (Trial of the Grand Crusader) which we tried and it wasn’t as easy. I guess it could take us a while since all of us probably don’t have the right gear for this. But maybe if we really spend more time, we might be able to do it. That night it was just so late when we finished off Anub’arak.

Anyway, here is the nicely organized shot of the last boss kill we managed to have.

The Third WoW Expansion: Cataclysm

wow-cataclysmWell, the rumor is true. This was just announced, officially, today at the Blizzcon. The next expansion of World of Warcraft is called Cataclysm. Besides the new playable races (Worgen for Alliance, Goblin for Horde,) I’m more excited with the new classes for existing races like… the Gnome Priest!

This made me wonder why would I want to gear up my Dwarf Priest still? Most likely that I’ll roll a Gnome one. Maybe I’ll transfer the Dorf to the Horde side and make him a Tauren Priest or something. Hehehe…
